Sheryl Crow entertained a sold-out crowd of 700.
The highlight of the evening was 14-year-old Dimple Chouhan, who spoke of her life-changing experience at the Tiger Woods Learning Center and how classes there have inspired her to become a neurosurgeon. Chouhan also welcomed Woods to the stage for a heartfelt speech about the impact of the program.
He provided an update on 20-year-old Jose, a near-high school dropout on the verge of gang initiation, who discovered a passion for science. Tiger proudly announced to the crowd that since speaking at the Block Party in 2006, Jose is now in college and teaching a rocket science class at the Learning Center.
Later in the evening, guests took in a private concert by nine-time Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter Sheryl Crow, who thoroughly entertained the sold-out crowd of 700. Actor Luke Wilson introduced her, and she played most of her hit songs.
Guests also enjoyed a great meal prepared by renowned chef Tim Love, owner of The Lonesome Dove Western Bistro and the Love Shack in Fort Worth, Texas.
Prior to the concert, live and silent auctions took place. The live auction featured luxury vacation packages, including a 2010 U.S. Open trip to Pebble Beach and a pro-am berth in the upcoming Chevron World Challenge, plus a private putting lesson from Woods.
Jamie McCourt, co-owner and CEO of the Los Angeles Dodgers, was the evening's honoree.
