I'll generally eat something every four holes to keep up my energy level.
How many golf clubs have you used in your entire life?
Jim from Madison, Wisc.
Gosh, Jim, probably a lot, but I really like the Nike driver and irons I'm now playing with. Nike wanted my input on designing clubs, and I'm not bashful. Obviously, clubs need to perform well and should have several designs for different types of players, but I also think they should look good. When you're standing over the ball and ready to hit, you want something that's pleasing to your eye.
Tiger, I saw you eating a sandwich during golf this past weekend. Do you do that for every tournament? Also, what kind of sandwich is it?
Ross from Baton Rouge, La.
A lot of times, Ross, it's a peanut-butter sandwich, and I'll also snack on fruits and nuts. Hydration is also very important, and that's why you'll see me drink Gatorade throughout the day. It's amazing how quickly you can become dehydrated during a round and lose your concentration without even knowing it.
Dear Mr. Woods, my wife and I have watched you for years. We are now retired and have grandchildren that look up to you. Thank you for being an inspiration to so many!
Dewie from Boca Raton, Fla.
Thank you, Dewie, I appreciate your saying that. Hopefully, either you or your wife are golfers and are playing with your grandchildren. That's one of the great things about golf -- it can be played by all ages. If you are doing that, make sure the kids are having fun. That will keep them coming back. It sounds like the children are very lucky to have you both as grandparents.
Hi, Tiger, are you doing anything for the Labor Day weekend? My family has an annual golf tournament that we look forward to every year. It's gotten so big, we actually are having a double shotgun start! Lots of fun. Wish me luck!
Jon from Naples, Fla.
Hey, Jon, I'll be playing, too. This week, we're competing at the Deutsche Bank Championship in Norton, Mass. It's the second tournament in the FedExCup Playoffs, and I hope to improve a little bit on my finish last week at The Barclays. It's a really strong field, a great golf course, and I think the weather is supposed to be clear and cool. I've always liked the New England area and after hot and humid Florida, this should feel great. If you take a break, watch a little bit on TV.
Hi, Tiger, I saw that Roger Federer had twins! Have you gotten to meet them yet?
Kate from New York City
I haven't, but Elin and I were thrilled to hear the news. Fed and I text back and forth all the time, and he sounds so excited and happy. Hopefully, one day our families can meet and spend some time together. Right now it's the U.S. Open, so he's a little busy. When I'm away from the golf course, I'll be spending my time searching for updates and watching Roger on TV.
